“Rural Shoring” is a rural-focused socio-commercial initiative dedicated to creating employment in rural India. RuralShores is pioneering this major innovation to the corporate operating model. We provide the educated, less-privileged rural youth with sustainable employment opportunities, while also providing to the corporate world an access to the talent of rural India. For over a decade, we have evolved a proven operating model for successful delivery across processes and geographics. We are currently empowering over 2300 employees in 14 centers through 8 states and are delivering over 45 processes to more than 20+ blue chip clients.

Covid Response

Around Feb - Mar 2020, we were continuously monitoring Covid related situation and trying to prepare ourselves to meet the same. We started interactions with our partners, commenced procurement of additional IT hardware and internet connecting devices, updating data on power and internet signals available at our employee’s homes and so on.

We were also impacted where some of our employees tested Covid positive. Centers had to be closed down, which in the first few days did impact our productivity as we were trying to come to terms with the new situation.

We can very proudly acclaim that our reaction to meet the emerging situation was good and very swift.

Rather than being defensive, we went on an aggressive mode and deployed over 1500 employees to work from home ensuring continuity in our operations thus ensuring continuity of Client business and win over their confidence.
As every crisis throws up an opportunity so did the Covid situation. It brought in a new perspective to business operations where work could be executed even from the confines of homes.
This created more opportunities especially for women who were shy to come out from their homes and work physically from our centers.
When we went to the homes of our employees to deploy their systems, we were humbled by their living conditions and realised the difference our efforts were making to their lives.
Moreover, the parents discovered a new found respect and pride for their children when they saw what their children were actually doing and achieving at our centers.
During the summer of 2021, RuralShores helped supply drinking water to villages in Maharashtra such as Dhavalgaon as show below.

We have ensured that our centers are fully compliant with Covid safe guidelines. As we write this piece, 91% of our employees are vaccinated with two jabs and they are relatively safe and well.
